Granny & Grandpaw's house

In early December, while Aunt Jessica and cousin Rachel were in town, Leif made his inaugural trip out to Granny and Grandpaw G.'s house. He quickly zeroed in on one of the best toys in any household: cabinet doors! Whether big or small, Leif loves doors and could spend all day (or at least 10 minutes at a stretch, which is like all day in baby-attention-span terms) opening and closing them. In a pinch, any other hinged objects -- such as pages in a book or flaps on a cardboard box -- will also do.

Rachel is gradually adjusting to being the big kid in the family when Leif is around. At dinner, she was not so sure about having another kid sitting in the high chair that traditionally has been hers, but she did very will in her big-girl booster seat, and we all enjoyed listening to her and Leif "talk" to each other across the table. Fortunately, they speak the same language. (The rest of us are still learning.)
