Leif got this snazzy new play mat a couple weeks ago, and so far he is finding it FASCINATING. Its little light and music show is sometimes a bit overstimulating for his taste, but simply lying on the mat and flailing his arms -- and occasionally grabbing at the lowest hanging toys -- is right about Leif's speed at age 2 1/2 months. So far he has an odd habit of grabbing onto one thing while staring at something else, but he does occasionally look at the thing he has in his hand. It will be exciting when we see him start to put it together that HEY!, those are his hands, and HEY!, he can actually control them to do things! He's close, but doesn't seem *quite* there yet.
