Four-month stats

This post is also out of order, but I had said at some point that I would blog about Leif's four-month well baby checkup, so I wanted to include this even though he is now verging on five months (better late than never!).

The checkup confirmed what we all suspected -- Leif is a BIG baby! In his first four months of life outside the womb, he had roughly doubled his birth weight (from about 8 1/2 pounds to 16 1/2 pounds) and increased his length by almost 30 percent (from 21 inches long at birth to 27 inches at four months). As Grandpaw G. aptly put it, "We knew he was big, but not THAT big!" Aaron and I have started to look at bigger car seats, since at this rate Leif will outgrow his infant seat within another couple months.

It seems Leif is determined to catch up to his petite cousin Rachel in size as soon as possible, even though she is a year older than him!
